Senior Partner Mark Leibler AC said the appointments recognise the talent, commitment and experience of each individual lawyer. “It reflects the trust and respect these talented lawyers have earned from clients and colleagues within a highly competitive profession, and in a firm known for its absolute commitment to excellence”.

This year’s appointments represent the highest number of partner promotions in Arnold Bloch Leibler’s 66 year history, with a total increase of 19 per cent to the firm’s partnership. In the Sydney office, partner numbers are increasing by 43 per cent (from 7 to 10 partners).

Managing Partner Henry Lanzer AM explained how the 2019 appointments support the firm’s approach to cross-generational collaboration: “ABL is considered unique in the marketplace, and by embracing our point of difference today, these younger leaders are collaborating with more senior partners to create an enduring point of difference into the future”.

Arnold Bloch Leibler was featured in the lead story of the Australian Financial Review’s mid-year partnership survey report as one of a handful of firms that had increased their size by five or more partners.

Asked about market conditions after the initial impact of the Hayne Royal commission, Partner Paul Rubenstein was quoted by legal editor Michael Pelly as being in the "cautiously optimistic" camp. "We see things continuing to track as busy,'' Mr Rubenstein said.
