Arnold Bloch Leibler hosts pre-election panel event in Sydney

Pre election min

With just over a week to go before Australians head to the polls, Arnold Bloch Leibler hosted a pre-election panel event in our newly refurbished Sydney offices.

The panel discussion featured three of Australia’s sharpest political and economic commentators, Jennifer Hewett (columnist for the Australian Financial Review), Sharri Markson, (investigations editor at The Australian and presenter on SKY News Australia) and Malcolm Farr (former long-time journalist for News Limited publications, now contributing across a range of programs and publications including The Drum and Crikey.com).

The session, facilitated by ABL’s managing partner in Sydney, Paul Rubenstein, provided attendees with a range of perspectives on the electorate’s mindset and the major themes framing the campaign, delving deeply into a discussion focused on the economy, national security and integrity in politics.

During this free-wheeling and lively discussion, Paul and our ‘political insider’ panellists also reflected on, and debated, other important election issues, including the impact of Independent candidates and the prospect of a hung parliament, the cost of living, governments’ influence on wage growth and Australia’s response to climate change.

While a week can change everything when it comes to an election campaign, these weighty issues will no doubt feature prominently.
