New ATO guidance on Division 7A and Section 100A
The ATO has issued a suite of draft guidance documents and a Taxpayer Alert on the topics of Section 100A and Division 7A of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1936. The documents focus on arrangements commonly seen in family and private groups.

The Top 500 program is an extension of the ATO’s previous Top 320 program and involves tailored one-to-one engagements. It is likely most private groups that participated in the Top 320 program will be reviewed by the ATO under the Top 500 program.

Next 5,000
The Next 5,000 program involves streamlined assurance reviews with the 'next' 5,000 top private groups in Australia. The review period will generally cover the two most recent income years.
