About Danielle

Danielle is a Senior Associate (effective 1 July 2026) in the firm’s taxation practice in Sydney. She has worked across both the New Zealand and Australian markets for both inbound and outbound multinational companies, private groups, ultra-high-net wealth individuals and family offices. 

Prior to joining the firm, Danielle was a member of EY’s international tax and transfer pricing team. 

Danielle graduated from The University of Auckland with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws with Honours in 2017. She was admitted to the High Court of New Zealand in 2018 and the Supreme Court of NSW in 2022.

Practice focus

Danielle’s practice focuses on the following areas:

  • Advising public and private groups, family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals on complex domestic and international tax matters, including cross-border structuring and transactions, Division 7A, section 99B, double tax agreements, transfer pricing and tax residency issues.
  • Advising clients through all stages of ATO audits, reviews and tax controversy matters, including strategic engagement with the ATO, technical submissions, briefing counsel, settlement negotiations and dispute resolution processes.
  • Advising clients on trust restructures, succession planning, intergenerational wealth transfers and deceased estate matters.
  • Advising on transaction structuring and M&A tax matters in connection with acquisitions and restructures. 

Experience

Danielle has acted in a range of taxation matters, including the following:

  • A large private group in its dispute with the ATO on the application of Part IVA and demerger provisions.
  • Disputes with the ATO regarding receipt of inbound loans valued $100M+ from Asia by ultra-high net wealth individuals in Australia to fund property development projects.
  • Advising a large private group on the restructure and division of $300M trust assets as part of a broader succession planning process.
  • Advising on the restructure of a large $400M+ deceased estate with foreign beneficiaries.
  • Advising on wealth structures for ultra-high net-wealth individuals seeking to commence Australian residency or cease Australian residency.
  • Acted for the shareholders of “Buy Sell Move” on the sale of their supply chain management software business to WiseTech Global.
