Senior partner Mark Leibler and public interest partner Peter Seidel pay tribute to Lowitja O’Donoghue in a message shared with her family and the Lowitja Institute.
In the passing of Lowitja O’Donoghue, the nation has lost a great leader, a great woman, whose energy, imagination, courage and compassion shone the brightest of lights on Aboriginal fortitude and the precious vision of true reconciliation.
Arnold Bloch Leibler has had the privilege of advising Lowitja personally and, over many years, supporting the work of the Institute that proudly bears her name, which provides a unique contribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health research.
As a firm, we proudly carry the torch she ignited for the nation to respect and understand its First Peoples as a basis for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians to walk in solidarity with one another.
It is a gift that will be forever associated with a woman of rare stature, who was respected and loved in equal measure.
