An article published in today’s AFR quotes senior associate Lucy Eastoe explaining that large landowners need to be aware of changes to Planning Schemes announced recently by the state government, which might influence their decisions in the long and the short term.
The amendment sets out the planning agenda for stage 1 of the Suburban Rail Loop and affects land within the municipalities of Bayside, Kingston, Monash and Whitehorse, in and around the proposed route for the Suburban Rail Loop (stage 1).
‘‘Inevitably, with these sorts of infrastructure projects, there’s a tension between delivering what will be a generational infrastructure project for the city but also balancing it with the interest of individual landowners,’’ Lucy told AFR property editor Nick Lenaghan.
‘‘The message is to be alive to what’s taking place and seek advice as to how it might affect you directly.”
