As part of the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours List, Arnold Bloch Leibler Partner Joey Borensztajn has been appointed as a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM).

Joey has been recognised for significant service to the community through a diverse group of charitable and not-for-profit organisations – including as Life Member of the Executive of Mount Scopus Memorial College Foundation, Director of the Jewish Holocaust Centre Foundation, President of the Australian Friends of Yad Vashem Inc., Director of Collingwood Football Club Foundation and Director of the Australian Academy of Robotic Innovation Education Simulation Ltd.

Senior Partner Mark Leibler warmly congratulated Joey, saying: “Having worked closely with Joey for some 26 years, I have always admired his broad, energetic and unwavering contribution to a range of causes that are important to him, to our clients and to Australia as a whole. This award is well-deserved recognition of his decades of generous service.”

Joey said he was enormously proud to receive the award and considered it an honour to have been able to contribute in the way he has. “To be recognised personally in this way is both rewarding and humbling. I feel very fortunate that being a Partner at Arnold Bloch Leibler has allowed me to work alongside many talented people – colleagues and clients - who care deeply about the community. Giving something back is part of the firm’s DNA and enriches every one of us.”
