Arnold Bloch Leibler has acted for US private equity firm Vista Equity Partners on the strategic investment in StarRez by Five Arrows, a private equity firm backed by Rothschild & Co, to support StarRez’s next phase of growth.
StarRez is a global leader in on and off campus student housing software, trusted by more than 1,100 higher education institutions and 2,000 property managers worldwide. The investment will aim to support continued product development, expand capabilities across the housing lifecycle, and deeper engagement with customers globally.
The transaction was led by Commercial partner Jeremy Leibler and senior associate Ari Bendet, with assistance from lawyer Noah Abelman. Taxation advice was provided by Tax partner Jonathan Ortner and senior associate George Bassil.
Jeremy Leibler commented: “This deal demonstrates the strength of pairing a successful private company with high-calibre private equity backing. StarRez’s growth following Vista’s investment shows the power of that combination, and we’re proud to have supported the shareholders on this milestone transaction”.
Jake Hodgman, Managing Director at Vista Equity Partners also commented: “StarRez is redefining how universities and residential housing providers manage life on and off campus at scale. We’re proud to deepen our engagement and to welcome Five Arrows as a long-term partner as the company enters its next chapter of growth.”
This recent transaction follows Vista Equity Partners’ earlier strategic growth investment in StarRez, nearly four years ago, a deal that was also advised on by the ABL team.
