About Natalie

Natalie Thomas is a senior associate in the firm's banking & finance team.

She has acted for a range of borrower and non-bank lender clients, including ASX-listed corporations and private companies. Natalie has advised clients on various matters relating to corporate finance, capital raising, property development finance, restructuring and insolvency.

Natalie holds a Master of Laws (Juris Doctor) from Monash University and a Bachelor of Science (Degree with Honours) from the University of Melbourne. She joined the firm as a law graduate in 2020 and was admitted to practice in 2021.

Practice focus

  • corporate financing, including bilateral, syndicated and club facilities;
  • property acquisition and development financing, including bilateral and syndicated facilities and senior and mezzanine facilities;
  • real estate investment fund structuring and capital raisings; and
  • restructuring and insolvency.

Experience

Natalie has acted in a range of matters, including:

Property finance

  • IP Generation: in relation to the acquisition, structuring and financing of approximately $2 billion of Australian retail shopping centre assets, including:
    • the acquisition of a $300 million portfolio of regional shopping centres in Sydney and regional NSW;
    • the $223.5 million acquisition of the flagship David Jones building; and
    • the $315 million acquisition of Glendale Shopping Centre.
  • Gurner™ & Qualitas: in relation to acquisition and construction financing for the re-development of Melbourne’s historic Chapel Street ‘Jam Factory’.
  • GurnerTM: in relation to the development and financing of various residential, commercial and retail developments.
  • Merricks Capital: in relation to a variety of property, corporate and agricultural financings.
  • Various Australian property developers in relation to debt and equity financing transactions for land acquisitions, development and construction facilities.

Corporate finance

  • Nufarm Limited: in relation to its global financing facilities, including its $950 million global refinancing including an $800 million revolving Asset Based Lending secured credit facility and a $150 million secured Liquidity Facility
  • Credit Agricole and a syndicate of lenders: in relation to the international credit facilities to McDermott International engineering and construction group.
  • Corporate facilities for various Australian ASX-listed and private companies, including CAR Group and Australian Football League.
