About Matthew

Matthew is a senior associate in the firm’s Dispute Resolution & Litigation practice group in Sydney.

Matthew has experience acting for private clients and corporate entities in complex commercial disputes, arbitrations, class actions and insolvency litigation (acting for creditors and insolvency practitioners).

Prior to joining ABL in 2022, Matthew practised as a lawyer in the Dispute Resolution team of a national law firm with a speciality in class actions and funded claims.

Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from Macquarie University. He is admitted to practise as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia.

  • St Basil’s Homes for the Aged in Victoria in a class action brought in the Supreme Court of Victoria relating to a 2020 COVID-19 outbreak
  • a former director of International Capital Markets Pty Limited in a class action brought in the Federal Court of Australia concerning ‘contracts for difference’
  • Phoslock Environmental Technologies Limited in a class action brought in the Federal Court of Australia relating to continuous disclosure and other alleged breaches
  • a lead applicant in a class action for the purposes of providing independent legal advice
