About Madeleine

Madeleine is a Senior Associate in the firm’s Employment & Workplace Advisory team.

She has acted for clients across professional services, property, construction, pharmaceuticals, investment, private clients and family groups, retail, manufacturing, health, and journalism sectors.

She has also acted on behalf of not-for-profit and charitable organisations, including community organisations, schools, and charities.

Madeleine graduated from the University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws. She was admitted to practice in 2019 and joined Arnold Bloch Leibler as a lawyer in 2022.

Practice focus

Madeleine’s practice spans litigation and advisory work, and includes:

  • Strategic workplace advice, including engagement, management and dismissal of employees
  • Modern award compliance
  • The enforcement of post-termination restraints and the protection of confidential information and intellectual property
  • Employment litigation and dispute resolution
  • Terms and conditions of employment, including contracts of employment, executive employment and incentive arrangements and plans
  • Enterprise bargaining and union relationship management
  • Workplace policies, procedures, and compliance
  • Workplace investigations; and
  • Employment aspects in commercial transactions

Experience

Madeleine’s recent experience includes:

  • A pharmaceutical company: in litigation in the Federal Court of Australia concerning a contractual dispute including financial incentive terms
  • Australian Community Media: in relation to large scale enterprise bargaining, industrial disputes, union engagement, and individual employment disputes
  • Chargrill Charlies: in relation to the employment aspects of its sale to Craveable brands, and other employee dispute related matters
  • Alceon Private Equity: in relation to the employment aspects of its acquisition of Boss Engineering
  • An ASX listed company: in relation to the termination of its Chief Executive Officer
  • A senior executive in a large not-for-profit organisation: in relation to the end of their employment
  • A large Australian retailer: in relation to advisory work and various employment disputes
