About Gabrielle

Gabrielle is a Senior Advisor in the Dispute Resolution & Litigation team in Melbourne.

Gabrielle specialises in property litigation, insolvency and general commercial litigation. She acts for public and private companies, directors, shareholders and individuals in a range of industries.

Prior to joining the firm in 2022, Gabrielle worked at CMS UK in their property litigation team in London. In that role, Gabrielle worked on high profile lease disputes, property insolvency disputes and other commercial disputes.

Gabrielle is qualified in England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Birmingham.

Experience

Gabrielle has acted in a range of matters, including:

  • Noumi Limited: in defending shareholder class action claims brought against it
  • Honda Australia: in defending litigation in the Victorian Supreme Court bought by former dealers in connection with the termination of their dealership agreements in the context of the transition to a new business model, and acting in an associated appeal
  • Pacific Group of Companies: in defending commercial claims brought against it in the Victorian Supreme Court
  • Various landlords and/or commercial tenants: in respect of various breaches of commercial leases, contractual interpretation advice and commercial claims
  • Acted on shareholder oppression claim
  • Liquidators: in making various applications to Court for judicial guidance
  • Pro bono client: in making a successful application for orders terminating the winding up of a charitable foundation following the approval of a Deed of Company Arrangement to allow the charitable operations to continue
  • Successfully acted on an appeal at the UK Court of Appeal regarding a dispute concerning the validity of the operation of a break option in a commercial lease
  • Hotel brand: in commercial litigation regarding a portfolio of hotel leases in respect of various commercial claims
  • Advised various landlord institutional investors as major creditors in various insolvency matters including regarding tenant administration, liquidation and company voluntary arrangements.
