About Camilla

Camilla Miles is a senior associate in the firm’s competition and intellectual property practices.

Camilla assists clients from a broad range of sectors with both contentious and non-contentious competition and consumer law issues and provides assistance in relation to investigations commenced by the ACCC and other regulatory bodies.

Camilla advises on issues arising under competition and consumer law and intellectual property law.

Practice focus

Camilla’s practice focuses on the following areas:

  • competition law, including mergers and acquisitions, cartels and misuse of market power,
  • regulated infrastructure, including pricing and access issues,
  • consumer law, including misleading or deceptive conduct, unconscionable conduct, unfair contract terms, consumer protection and product recalls,
  • trade mark, copyright and patent infringement, and
  • contractual disputes.

Experience

Camilla has acted in a range of matters including:

  • Premier Apparel: assisting with competition and regulatory advice ahead of Myer’s acquisition of Premier’s Apparel Brands business
  • An automotive manufacturer: assisting with a national product recall for an automotive manufacturer
  • An online retailer: assisting with an investigation commenced by the ACMA
  • Assisting a major Australian retailer with the review of advertisement templates to ensure compliance with the Australian Consumer Law.

Before joining Arnold Bloch Leibler, Camilla assisted:

  • a leading global appliance company with two major product recalls, involving international supply and liaising with international counterparts to ensure compliance in those jurisdictions (NZ and EU).
  • a leading global appliance company with regulatory investigations commenced by State Regulators (with oversite from the ACCC).
  • with the preparation of merger clearance submissions, including for a major national wholesale food distributor and the Australian subsidiary of a globally integrated payments company, with both ultimately approved by the ACCC.
  • a major pharmaceutical company with review of its contract templates following the introduction of the unfair contract terms regime.
  • an appeal and penalty hearing for the Australian subsidiary of a global vehicle manufacturer against proceedings brought under the ACL alleging misleading and deceptive conduct, false and misleading representations, unconscionable conduct and breach of consumer guarantees.
