In an article published by the AFR, workplace advisory partner Bridget Little advises employers to look at the issue of sexual harassment “with a renewed perspective”.
Responding to early findings from the Australian Human Rights Commission’s annual survey on sexual harassment, senior workplace lawyers quoted in the article say poor behaviour in the workplace is being called out more regularly, with victims “emboldened by advocates such as Brittany Higgins and Grace Tame”.
Bridget told AFR legal editor Michael Pelly that complaints she’s advised on over the last two or so years have been “a mixture of historical issues being brought to light and new incidents that had occurred in the brief windows between lockdowns”.
“This is a really opportune time for meaningful policy and training refreshers, beyond just a tick-box exercise.”
