Arnold Bloch Leibler was proud to once again support the Deakin Law School Academic Excellence Prize event, recognising outstanding student achievement in the 2025 academic year.
ABL partner, head of the firm’s tax practice, and Deakin Law School Advisory Board member Paul Sokolowski represented ABL at the ceremony, presenting the firm’s sponsored prizes to this year’s recipients:
- Best Student in Equity and Trusts – Mia Timpano
- Best Student in Property – Preanka Gounden
- Equal Best Student in Constitutional Law – Ethan Cullinan
- Equal Best Student in Constitutional Law – Kushini Gunaratna
- Best Student in Taxation – Lachlan McClure
The firm also congratulates Mia Timpano, recipient of the ABL prize for Equity and Trusts, who was awarded the Supreme Court Prize, presented by the Chief Justice of Victoria, The Honourable Chief Justice Richard Niall.
A highlight of the evening was ABL receiving the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Community Contribution to Deakin Law School. Presented by the Dean of Deakin Law School, Professor Patrick Emerton, the award recognised ABL’s 20 years of support for Deakin Law School and its students.
Paul Sokolowski accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
“ABL is delighted to support the Deakin Law School Academic Excellence Prizes and to recognise students who have distinguished themselves through their academic achievements,” Paul said.
“We are especially proud of our long-standing relationship with Deakin Law School. Over the past 20 years, we have seen many prize winners go on to use their legal education to make meaningful contributions in their careers and communities.
