Arnold Bloch Leibler has advised long-standing client, property funds manager Haben, and its joint venture partner JY Group in relation to their acquisition of Casey Central Shopping Centre for $225 million.

As reported in The Australian, the deal represents one of the largest Victorian subregional shopping centre sales in the last 5 years.

Property & Development senior associate Liam Thomson led the transaction with the assistance from lawyer Tamsen Kempster. Banking & Finance partner Nathan Briner advised on the financing component of the purchase, assisted by senior associate Lisa Garson and lawyer Isabel Charny.

Liam Thomson said: "Congratulations to our clients Haben and JY Group on their latest acquisition, following their purchase of The Pines Shopping Centre earlier this year. We look forward to working with the team on future transactions."

ABL was also involved in Haben’s earlier shopping centre acquisitions including the purchase of The Pines Shopping Centre in Melbourne’s Doncaster East with the JY Group for $160 million and Caloundra Shopping Centre in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast for $97 million.
