Arnold Bloch Leibler has advised Hireup on its $40 million capital raising as part of a long-term strategic partnership with SEEK Investments.

Hireup is an online platform for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants to enable them to find, hire and manage their own support workers. SEEK Investments will join Hireup as a minority shareholder.

Corporate and M&A partner Jeremy Lanzer led the transaction and was supported by senior associate Simone Gould and lawyer Anjali Bethune.

Hireup co-founder Jordan O’Reilly commented in The Australian: “It can’t be underestimated how important this is as a step forward for the Australian disability sector. For so long the sector operated as a silo. It is about individualised planning but also giving people with a disability the opportunity to participate in mainstream life.”

Andrew Bassat, SEEK co-founder and head of SEEK Investments, also commented: “Hireup is a terrific business and we are pleased that SEEK Investments is going to part of its exciting journey.”

Jeremy Lanzer congratulated Hireup and SEEK Investments on behalf of the ABL team: “We are delighted to have supported Hireup in such an important transaction. Arnold Bloch Leibler has proudly been a part of Hireup’s journey for many years. Having also had the privilege of working closely with SEEK over a long period of time, I can’t think of a better partner to work with Hireup in advancing the Australian disability sector. Congratulations to Jordan, Andrew and both teams on this wonderful achievement.”
