As reported in today’s AFR, all 18 law firms who, in 2019, signed a statement of support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and its call for a First Nations Voice enshrined in the Constitution are now backing a YES vote in the upcoming referendum.
AFR legal editor Michael Pelly writes that when the firms first signed the statement of commitment, leading Voice advocate Prof. Megan Davis hailed it “a really significant development.”
While not all of the firms have made public statements about their position, the article notes that Arnold Bloch Leibler has changed its email signature block to convey that the firm “supports the Indigenous Voice and its enshrinement in the Constitution”.
