SharingStories Foundation

Sharing Stories Foundation

The SharingStories Foundation (SSF) is a not-for-profit organisation led by a passionate board with majority Indigenous representation. SSF works with Indigenous communities to protect, maintain and grow language, stories and cultural heritage through digital media and vibrant art forms.

Over the past five years, SSF has worked with 13 First Nations partner communities to transfer digital media skills and facilitate intergenerational cultural transmission on country, through e-books, animations, short films, artworks and songs.

The relationship with Arnold Bloch Leibler began in 2015 when SSF was a relatively new organisation. A year later, Arnold Bloch Leibler hosted an event in Melbourne to give SSF an opportunity to showcase its work to high profile philanthropists.

“SSF hopes that we will continue to enjoy this tremendous support as it significantly enhances our capacity to work towards our vision, which is shared by ABL, of strong, connected Indigenous young people and communities working together with all Australians to care for culture and Country.”

Liz Thompson, executive officer, Sharing Stories Foundation

Arnold Bloch Leibler continues to provide SSF with advice in relation to corporate governance and general commercial matters. The firm has also assisted with a review of the foundation’s governing documents, provided training to the board and advised on a range of intellectual property agreements.
