Arnold Bloch Leibler has advised Silicon Valley based Cyberinc on the Australian taxation and workplace aspects of the sale of its Identity and Access Management business to KPMG.

The ABL team - working alongside global counsel Reed Smith LLP - included partner Clint Harding and senior associate Jonathan Ortner from the Tax practice, and special counsel Bridget Little from Workplace Advisory.

Cyberinc provides cyber security solutions globally and specialises in the management of digital consumer identities and privileged user management.  KPMG told the Australian Financial Review that “cybersecurity was a top risk to business as cyber criminals got more creative and brazen.”

In Cyberinc’s press release, Tony Buffomante, U.S. Leader of KPMG’s Cyber Security Services practice further said that “as organisations innovate and transform their back, middle and front offices, identity and access management solutions that effectively bridge the gap between risk mitigation and customer experience are key to driving sustainable growth”.

ABL Partner Clint Harding commented on the firm’s involvement in the matter: “We were delighted to advise on complex aspects of this significant cross-border matter alongside our peers at Reed Smith”.
