Melbourne based partner Partner Paul Sokolowski, the firm’s tax practice leader, is a finalist in the category of ‘Chartered Tax Adviser of the Year’, recognising tax professionals who demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, strategic business expertise and innovative ideas. In support of Paul’s nomination for the award, a client noted that Paul is “a very experienced and technically excellent lawyer with a strong commercial focus”, and commented that his “ability to exercise sound judgment in providing commercially sensible solutions to complex issues is highly valued”. Sydney based lawyer Peter Scott is also a finalist - in the category of ‘Emerging Tax Star of the Year’, which recognises inspirational, emerging tax professionals with a commitment and passion for building a successful career in tax. In Peter’s awards submission, Senior Partner Mark Leibler AC described him as “an integral part of the Sydney tax practice” and clients referenced Peter’s technical excellence, professionalism and responsiveness.
The Tax Institute’s Tax Adviser of the Year Awards honour the best and brightest in the Australian tax profession, across all levels of experience. They are judged by an independent expert panel that comprises leading members of the tax profession.
