Henry Skene is the head of Arnold Bloch Leibler’s workplace advisory practice and has more than 15 years’ experience advising employers and business owners in all aspects of workplace relations.

Henry is known for his strong rapport with clients, and for working collaboratively with business owners and managers, to assess business problems, and implement innovative, commercially focused and long-term solutions.

Henry is regularly identified as a leading lawyer in labour and employment law by international legal guides, including the Australian edition of Best Lawyers International and Chambers & Partners. Since 2008, he has been recognised in the area of labour and employment by Best Lawyers, and in 2013 he was awarded Best Lawyers' Melbourne Labour and Employment 'Lawyer of the Year’. In Chambers Asia-Pacific, Henry is described as a 'robust litigator' who 'inspires loyalty and a high degree of respect in his clients’.

Specialising in workplace relations strategy, Henry’s practice contemplates all aspects of workplace change strategy and execution, including enterprise bargaining, collective labour disputes and litigation, individual employment arrangements and litigation, and construction and infrastructure management. He has acted in many of the largest and most complex matters in this field. Henry has acted for major employers in workplace litigation in Federal and State jurisdictions, and regularly appears before Fair Work Australia.

His clients come from a range of industries, including mining and resources, construction and infrastructure projects, retail, manufacturing, professional services and energy. He has also acted for various public sector bodies in relation to compliance issues and workplace reform.
