Indigenous student cadetships
Life at ABL
After years of lectures, assignments and exams, you are probably planning to sleep in late and relax during the holidays. Tempting as that may be, if you want to get ahead, consider doing a seasonal clerkship at Arnold Bloch Leibler.
A seasonal clerkship at Arnold Bloch Leibler offers you the opportunity to experience first-hand life as a lawyer and our stimulating and unique culture. We do not hide behind smoke and mirrors. Instead, we offer a programme where you have the opportunity to be an integral part of our firm.
Arnold Bloch Leibler offers approximately 35 seasonal clerkships each year, timed to coincide with university holidays. A clerkship runs for four weeks, and there are three main intakes yearly: June/July, December and January/February. With only 10 to 12 clerks at any given time, you will not get lost in the crowd.
Generally, we only take students in their second-last year of study. Our experience has shown that, by this stage, students have reached a level of their education that can be developed further with us.
Applications for 2013/14 must be sent by 11.59pm on Sunday 4 August 2013.
Applications should include a covering letter, a CV and transcripts of academic records with numeric mark conversions. Law students applying using cvMail have the option of either manually keying in academic results or capturing results directly from their university website. Original transcripts of results may be presented at the first interview.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications online via cvMail. Hard copies are also accepted and can be mailed to:
Lauri BurkeNote: Please do not address applications to individual partners.

Selected candidates will be asked to attend an interview with two partners and a member of the human resources team. Interviews are approximately half an hour in duration. It is hoped that during the interview the partners will be able to assess a candidate's suitability for a clerkship with the firm. Equally, it is an opportunity for a candidate to learn about the firm and assess if a clerkship with Arnold Bloch Leibler is right for them.
