Robert joined Arnold Bloch Leibler in 1976 as the partner in charge of the firm’s commercial litigation practice and has played a crucial role in building and developing the reputation of the firm in general, and its litigation practice in particular. Under his leadership it has attracted a wide range of clients seeking assistance in highly complex and sensitive matters.
Robert counsels clients on a variety of corporate, litigation and strategic matters, including corporate governance, directors’ duties, disclosure obligations, corporate compliance matters and internal investigations.
Clients speak of his skill in specifically identifying risk levels, likely outcomes, options and the ‘best courses of action’. Where necessary, Robert manages large, complex, often sensitive and long-term litigation, with a particular emphasis on corporate governance-related issues.
He has defended leading corporate identities against allegations of white-collar crime, particularly in the areas of tax, securities fraud, insider trading and breaches of the Corporations Act. He has also represented numerous individuals and companies at Royal Commissions and Government Commissions of Inquiry, and in class actions and other civil suits.
